The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BES)

Is a Ukrainian law enforcement agency in the field of protecting the economic security of the state (financial police).

The purpose of the Bureau is to combat economic crimes against the state by implementing law enforcement, analytical, economic, informational and other functions. The activity of BES is controlled by the Council of Public Control.

The Bureau of Economic Security is the only state authority responsible for combating economic crimes. He received the relevant powers of the Security Service and the Tax Police. By design, it has primarily the function of analytical work, not force powers.

BES cooperates with global organizations to combat international economic crime, namely smuggling, money laundering and cybercrime.

BES combines the powers of other state bodies in the field of economic security and serves as a platform for dialogue between business and the state for the detinization of the economy.
